Wellness | Souping (+ new things)

Since I’ve been totally slacking on blogging, I think it’s a perfect time to do a round up! Basically a quick catch up on some new wellness-y things I’ve been interested in…like souping! I heard it’s the new juicing.

Five (new) Things Wellness

1. Souping

The same day I ordered a one-day soup cleanse, I found this Vogue article about soup being the new juice. The soup cleanse I’m going to try is called Zupa. Their soups are made from whole vegetables harvested at the peak of ripeness. Zupa even has a pdf with food pairing suggestions for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so you’re not just having liquids all day. It’s fun to see the recipes they recommend and try new foods.

2. Weleda Skin Food

A cult classic and natural staple. Celebs like Victoria Beckham, Julia Roberts, and Adele are Weleda Skin Food fans. One freezing day in December I ran out of moisturizer. I was too lazy to walk to Sephora. Instead, I googled beauty products at Whole Foods. O. M. G. I can spend hours in that aisle. In addition to my new fav moisturizer (Juice Beauty), I got Weleda Skin Food.

Weleda Skin Food is a super super super thick cream. Most importantly, it’s not greasy. My skin drinks it up and feels happy and hydrated.

This cream is packed with skin nourishing ingredients that DON’T block your pores. I slather Skin Food daily on my hands, feet and elbows. Because winter dries out my skin a ton, every other night I use Skin Food as an indulgent deep moisture face cream. Another plus? It has rosemary leaf oil and vitamin E — both have anti-aging skin benefits.

3. CPY Opens in Cherry Hill

CorePower Yoga is expanding! I like CPY because they have a ton of locations and if you travel a lot, your classes are valid anywhere. They carry the best yoga brands, like alo and Beyond Yoga (Beyond Yoga pants feel like butter. Seriously. Try them). Anyway, their Cherry Hill location is beautiful and it’s located in a good area for eating and shopping. I recommend taking a whole self-care day filled with CPY, lunch and shopping. Their Cherry Hill studio has large windows in the living room area and in the classrooms. Okay now just imagine practicing yoga with some sunlight…how pretty would yoga and a sunrise or sunset be?!

4. Probiotic Pills

Probiotic pills are somewhat new to me. I started taking probiotic pills during my Wellnest cleanse (after that I stopped). There’s only so much yogurt, kimchi and kombucha I can handle. Taking a probiotic pill is pretty much brainless and doesn’t require any prep.

I take Flora Udo’s Choice Adult’s Probiotics. These are vegetarian probiotic pills that help support healthy micoflora in the small and large intestine and promote proper digestion. Remember to refrigerate the bottle!

5. Reformer Classes

I refuse to go to a gym (it gives me anxiety) and I’ve been looking for a strengthening exercise that I enjoy. Recently I’ve been taking reformer classes at Freehouse Fitness. I try to take morning classes to get me energized for the day and AM workouts give me more time to do stuff after work.  After my first class, I was soooo sore (a good sore). The classes are fun, the teachers are helpful and friendly, the studio is clean, and it’s a tough workout. Freehouse Fitness’s reformer classes fill up quick, so either sign up way in advance or stalk their online booking page for last minute openings.
