Weekend Recap – Sip n Glo & Yoga On The Steps

Sip n Glo Green Juice

I started my Saturday with Sip n Glo. DELISH! I couldn’t decide what to get, so I picked four ingredients to build my own cup of glo. It’s $7.75 for 16oz and their first 3 ingredients are included in your customized drink, and you just pay an additional .50 for non-superfoods and $1 for superfoods. I ended up getting kale, apples, lemon, and ginger. Pairing vegetables with apples in juice adds a yummy sweetness. I absolutely love ginger because it adds a little kick. I don’t really like the texture of kale (toooooo tough), but I love it in juice. It’s also full of a lot of good stuff for your body.

 

According to About.com, kale is

• a super food

• low in calories and fat

• rich in phytochemicals and vitamins (K, C, A, B-complex, E, and omega-3’s)

• contains iron, calcium, protein, potassium, copper, manganese, and phosperous

• rich in fiber –> helps you feel full

After Sip n Glo, I walked over to the Rittenhouse Farmer’s market. I just love checking out local vendors & produce. So many interesting things, pretty plants/flowers, and fresh veggies! I wanted it alllllll.

Sunday was Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s Yoga On The Steps event. The yoga class was really relaxing and I loved laying out in the sun to soak up some Vitamin D. Of course, I used LOTS of SPF to combat the sun’s aging effects. My fav sunscreen is Shiseido’s Ultimate Sun Protection Cream because it absorbs fast, is non-greasy/non-sticky, and feels good under makeup.   My friends and I were in the team “Yoga Bunnies”. We were inspired by this super freakin’ cute image:

After Yoga On The Steps, we went to Blue Cat Restaurant for brunch. SO SO SO good. I ended up getting the fish tacos…they’re probably the best fish tacos I’ve had in Philadelphia. I walked back home to Center City from the Art Museum…such a long walk. My feet hurt so bad! Sometimes I think, “hmm I can walk there”..but nope. Most of the times, I shouldn’t. Everything in the city feels closer than it actually is. On the plus side, I got a lot of walking done and my Breeze App kept congratulating me :).
