Style | An Embroidered LBD

Hi everyone! Last week I wrote about The Blog Connect Conference! It was a whole weekend affair consisting of a Kickoff Party + Conference. I had a billion outfit ideas in mind for the party. One night I was shopping online and came across the most perfect embroidered LBD by Lucy Paris. This dress is sold exclusively at Bloomingdale’s.

The embroidery adds some flair to this LBD. If you’re looking for a LWD, this Lucy Paris dress also comes in white. Shop it here. It even has a hint of mesh and ruffle.

Style Tip

I paired the dress with camel Sam Edelman Block Heels. I lean towards camel, tan and nude toned heels because I read somewhere that shoes that match your skin tone may visually elongate your legs (I’m 5 ft. 2 1/2 in. tall). Pretty much the shoe/heel appears as an extension of your leg which makes the leg appear longer. Does it work? Worth a shot.

Before The Blog Connect Kickoff Party at Ellelauri, Sarah (Shades of Sarah) and I hosted the Speaker Happy Hour at The Bakers Jar! Sarah and I had finished setting things up quickly, so we had time to kill and ended up taking some quick outfit photos.

Here’s me awkwardly playing with my hair because IDK what to do with my hands. Anyway, the dress. This A-line dress is semi-sheer and has floral embroidery with a ruffle trim neck + arm holes.

I grabbed my cup of coffee as an attempt to be less awkward. Avery also sells La Colombe coffee (one of my favorites!) at her super cute shop. Coffee and cupcakes? What a delish pair. The cupcakes come in mason jars. I usually eat half and save the rest for the following day. That gives me TWO days of treats!

It was so much fun getting to know the conference speakers. We chatted, drank wine, ate pizza and the yummiest cupcakes baked by Avery at The Bakers Jar!

I don’t have much of a sweet tooth. Avery’s cupcakes are my favorite in the entire city of Philadelphia — I love her banana cupcake (once I ordered it as a cake for Peter’s birthday. He loved it too!). It tastes like banana bread in cake form with cream cheese frosting. So heavenly!
