I think it’s clear I’ m addicted to lemons. One lemon has 5 g carbs, 17 calories, and 50% Vitamin C. I was craving something carbonated, so decided to make lemon soda. YUM! I’m not really a fan of sparkling water alone because I think it’s kind of bland. Anyway, the weather in Philly is supposed to be nice this weekend, so this recipe is a delicious + healthy way to feel refreshed. If you want to have a little more fun, you can always add a shot of some Skinnygirl Meyer Lemon Vodka. It’s made with the flavor of delish meyer lemons (my favorite type of lemon), contains 75.6 calories, and ZERO carbs. I think San Pellegrino is a great soda substitute. It’s mineral water and composed of 0 carbs, 0 calories, 200 mg calcium, 52 mg magnesium, 4 mg potassium, and 36 mg sodium. I definitely want to try Gerolsteiner (it has 348 mg calcium), but I don’t know where the heck to buy it -_-. So, this recipe doesn’t really have any measurements. I just add as much of each ingredient until I like the taste. Here’s an approximation:
• 1 lemon
• 3/4 glass of San Pellegrino
• 1 shot of Skinnygirl Meyer Lemon Vodka (optional)
Tip: Drink anything containing lemon with a straw! According to nutritionist, Monica Reinagel undiluted lemon juice is acidic and it can wear off tooth enamel. She also said, “Then again, even diluted lemon juice could potentially affect your teeth if you arre sipping on it all day long.” This sparkling lemon water is diluted, but I don’t want take any risks on my pearly whites! Happy Friday!
