Happy July! I love summer. Summer’s my favorite time of the year to do weekend trips. I just got back from New York City for a short getaway and two weekends ago, I went to Gettysburg! Summers are my favorite because the weather’s usually super nice and it’s easy to travel up and down the East Coast. Although I’ve been a few times already, I was so excited to travel to New York City. We did a lot of shopping, eating, and drinking. For now, here’s a little bit of life lately on Instagram.
My first weekend trip was to Gettysburg with Sarah! We stayed at a working horse farm and got to meet sweet animals. These high waisted blue yoga pants are from Beyond Yoga. The fabric for their yoga pants feel like smooth like butter. More about that trip here.
I wear a lot of neutrals and I tend to wear warmer toned neutrals. The colors of this mustard shift dress from Tobi (c/o) and red platform espadrilles from Vanessa Wu makes me feel so summery and extra happy. More outfit deets here.
Although I enjoy weekend getaways, sometimes it’s nice to stay in the city! In terms of summer activities, Philly has a lot to offer. Here I’m wearing the Limonada crop top by For Love & Lemons. I love eating/drinking lemons and also wearing lemon print. It’s just a happy and summery print. I met up with some style bloggers to venture around the Bluecross RiverRink and eat ice cream! You mustttt find the stand with really yummy vegan ice cream made from coconuts. SO good.
This photo is from my most recent weekend getaway to New York City! I wore this black front tie skater dress from Tobi (c/o). I paired it with these black and white espadrilles from Soludos (not pictured because shoes on the bed = gross!). We stayed at a Kimpton hotel (seriously one of my favorite hotel chains!). I ended up being guest of the day, got a room upgrade and complimentary bottle of wine. It was such a sweet surprise.
My NYC trip was full of eating and drinking. We started the night at the Press Lounge, ate dinner at Upland, grabbed a drink at The Nomad Hotel (the bartenders there are like chefs!), then went back to the Press Lounge. One of my favorite parts about staying at Ink48 is access to their roof top bar, the Press Lounge. You get a spectacular view of the city’s sky line. The line to get in is usually out the door, but hotel guests don’t have to wait in line. I ended up wearing this pretty little silver satin slip dress from Tobi (c/o) paired with nude heels from Louis et Cie. The slip dress makes me feel like Kate Moss in the ’90s. Simple nude patent heels are my go-to shoe of the night. They go with everything!
We ended the weekend trip in Brooklyn. TONS of amazing shopping. I went to Credo (my fav all natural beauty store — check them out in SF, LA or NY) to stock up on Juara Skincare.
Summer’s going by very quickly! I just want to extend this warm season and make more weekend trips. Do you have a favorite place to visit during the weekends?
